Experiences

Passages and other transitions, such as various kinds of revolutions, involve a restructuring of the very existence of the person experiencing them. Otherwise, we would not be talking about passages, where an intermediate state is passed, or revolutions, where society is changed by a revolution. But what does it mean to experience such a restructuring? How should we understand the experience of crossing a threshold? If threshold experiences take place between the ritual and the revolutionary, they also have a personal aspect.
