Planet Cult
摘要
A discourse on the ‘planet’ began to emerge together with what I defined as the third cosmology of modernity over a timespan that goes from 1945 to the first half of the 1970s. At first, it was in fact barely distinguishable from the incipient cosmological paradigm. Right after World War 2, the planetary idea was simply in the air. Intellectuals, policy-makers and investors from different contexts began to underscore the necessity of inventing political and legal formations that could enact regulations on a global scale, beyond the party interests of the new global contenders, the US and the URSS.
