Against the Grain: Felvidek, RPG Maker, and Cinematic Game Development Practices
摘要
Music pulses faster than I can move. Low on supplies and out of wine from a fight with some Hussite Knights just moments earlier, I take a swing with my sword. My armour-clad hands sweep in from the side and rake the nearest coffee-fuelled youthful cultist just before his friend (with a maw where their stomach should be) returns the strike. The music seems to pulse faster now, picking up tempo as the probability between victory and loss narrows, but I assume it’s a trick of the mind. I take my time with the world waiting to hear my next move, and I choose to pray. My hands rise, but this time they are not covered in steel plates but loose spun robes. No metallic shell to ward off blows of iron but the draperies to attest I am a man of faith and its word is good as I am filled with new vigour. The cultist still teases me with pokes and swings when their turn comes; but I have many arms and many tools and many turns left to make.
