Radio, television, and newspapers had been announcing for weeks the tickets sold-out, while the trade press was reporting adventurous details relating to the many Italians, particularly middle- and working-class girls and boys who were traveling on the Autostrada del Sole, the Italian Highway that connects Southern with Northern Italy, to reach Milan.
