“There’s music in the air at the Bagnoli Post”.3 This was the message that the Sixth Fleet Band, the Cincsouth’s Band, as well as the Naples US Navy had to spread from the Neapolitan Bay’s AFSOUTH. Fascinated by the American tunes, Neapolitans started to join American soldiers and marines in “jam sessions”, and “hot versions” of classic jazz tunes in the many American clubs — including the United States Organization (USO) club and the Bluebird Club — which were created specifically to promote the People to People Program.4
