Since the nineteenth century, Offenbach am Main has had a long history of being an arrival city for people of different nationalities, particularly guest workers for its large industrial companies (Bither, Küppers and Ziebarth, 2016, p. 10). Labour migration continues to shape the city and the entire Frankfurt/Rhine-Main metropolitan region to this day. The large number of immigrants can be attributed to globalization processes, which have resulted in massive exchanges of goods and information, but even more so to the continuous need for a large number of migrant workers (Vöckler, 2017, p. 54). Various immigrant groups have their own networks and locations within the city.
