The general aim of this chapter is to provide an in-depth analysis of the experiences and perspectives of activists/volunteers involved in pro-migrant networks in Europe, adopting a qualitative and comparative approach that allows for a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of the phenomenon. Through the analysis of 43 narrative interviews carried out in the two-year period 2023-2024 with activists/volunteers from different networks operating in Belgium, Spain and Italy, the organisational details, mobilisation methods and practices adopted by these collectives have been examined. Particular attention has been paid to the intersection between humanitarian action and political activism, investigating the strategies adopted to address the growing criminalisation of solidarity towards migrants by government institutions.
