Politics is the expression of the spirit of the State. However, it is not the activity of a spiritual essence known as the State, nor is it the activity of an entity that exists independently in opposition to human beings. An entity as such has been created many times by the imagination, but it has always been a mere abstraction to which only the imagination can give substance in a hypostasis endowed with any activity. From our point of view, the State is synonymous with the self-consciousness of the so-called individual subject, or the self-consciousness of the genuine human being. For man is positively real in the sense that he represents a universal will and is in harmony with the State.

摘要

Politics is the expression of the spirit of the State. However, it is not the activity of a spiritual essence known as the State, nor is it the activity of an entity that exists independently in opposition to human beings. An entity as such has been created many times by the imagination, but it has always been a mere abstraction to which only the imagination can give substance in a hypostasis endowed with any activity. From our point of view, the State is synonymous with the self-consciousness of the so-called individual subject, or the self-consciousness of the genuine human being. For man is positively real in the sense that he represents a universal will and is in harmony with the State.
