Do They Know?
摘要
A neglected factor in Public Service Interpreting (PSI) is quality awareness among the stakeholders responsible for appointing and collaborating with interpreters. This study aims to explore the extent of stakeholders’ awareness regarding the intricacies of maintaining quality in communication within critical contexts, such as the public sector. To investigate this, a mixed-methods approach was used to integrate both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. The quantitative data for this study were obtained through the statistical analysis of responses from public service personnel working in refugee settings in Greece. The qualitative findings emanate from an interview that was conducted with an individual working for a Greek NGO.
