The present study aims to qualitatively analyze the discursive and pragmatic values of the epistemic constructions je sais in French, yo sé in Spanish and eu sei in Portuguese, considering their syntactic position and the lexical, semantic and syntactic elements with which such epistemic constructions appear in the utterance. They will also be contrasted with their equivalents in English I know and German ich weiß to identify and determine differences and similarities regarding their discursive and pragmatic values. The examples will be taken from the Webcorp, the Corpus de la Real Academia Española (CREA), the Corpus del Español (CdE), the Corpus do Português (CdP), as well as from some online newspapers in the three Romance languages studied here. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar cualitativamente los valores discursivos y pragmáticos de las construcciones epistémicas en francés je sais, español yo sé y portugués eu sei, tomando en cuenta su posición sintáctica y los elementos léxico-semánticos y sintácticos con que aparecen en el enunciado, para luego compararlas con sus equivalentes en inglés I know y alemán ich weiß, identificando las diferencias o similitudes en sus valores discursivos y pragmáticos. Los ejemplos serán extraídos del Webcorp, Corpus de la Real Academia Española (CREA), Corpus del Español (CdE), Corpus do Português (CdP), así como de algunos periódicos en línea en las lenguas románicas aquí estudiadas.
