Setting the Space in Khanke

In this and the following chapter, I present the world as experienced and expressed by Shingali Ezidi women, the spaces they inhabit and the times of their daily lives. Based on my participant observation and notes, this is a description of the field environment and the organisation of space and time within which people live. The subsequent two chapters should be considered a pair and taken in conjunction with each other.
