Gender specification
摘要
In line with the way the data are organized and the thematic analysis put forward in section 1.3.5, the present chapter is devoted to Russian and Czech nonbinary linguistic practices which rely on novel and innovative features – or a combination thereof – not found in the standard variety. Because efforts revolve around the question which elements are suitable to replace binary gender marking, adding new signs to language or replacing binary gender marking, the practices presented in this chapter are categorized as a means of gender specification of nonbinary gender not found in the standard variety. These specific features are set to denote nonbinary genders, thus allowing for nonbinary identity construction.
