From 2 to 3 May 2024, the conference Linguistic diversity in professional settings: needs, policies and practices was held at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. In total, 70 participants with an interest in this topic from at least 15 different countries attended. This volume provides insights into the contributions discussed by academics and practitioners researching and working in multilingual professional settings. Before briefly introducing the individual contributions included in this volume, the challenges and findings related to the conference setting itself will be discussed by way of a preface.
