Charisma as a media weapon in Ukrainian political discourse

This chapter will explore the phenomenon of charisma as a media weapon within Ukrainian political discourse by analysing a chronological sequence of key events and the charismatic political figures involved. The analysis will cover the First Maidan in 2004, also known as the Orange Revolution, focusing on Yulia Tymoshenko and Viktor Yushchenko; the Second Maidan in 2014, or the Revolution of Dignity, highlighting Petro Poroshenko; and the Russo-Ukrainian War of 2022, examining figures such as Volodymyr Zelensky, Vitaliy Kim, Oleksiy Arestovych, Yuliia Paievska, Kateryna Polishchuk, and Yevheniia Emerald.
