The Foundations of Charisma Theory

The question of whether there is a connection between charisma and related phenomena, such as appellativeness, aggression, toxicity, and expressiveness, remains a topic of ongoing debate. Max Weber’s concept of charisma is particularly enigmatic, and its interpretation has been a source of considerable confusion. This chapter will examine the concept of charisma, its various definitions, and the ways in which it has been transferred between different discourses. It will also explore the concept’s multifaceted nature and its evolution over the past century (Donec 2014; Petlyuchenko 2017b; Petlyuchenko 2021b).
