Although Muspilli is not a heroic text, it is characterized by the presence of numerous terms that belong to the lexicon of heroism and battle. These terms appear in the section of the text where the author describes the battle between angels and demons for the possession of the soul, in the passage about the conflict between Elijah and the Antichrist, but also in the announcement of the Last Judgment. In the following pages, I will analyze the heroic vocabulary employed in these three sections and explore the possible motivations that may have led the author to imbue these passages with such connotations.
