Teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language in the cultural and political context since February 24, 2022
摘要
The teaching of Ukrainian as a foreign language (UFL) in Ukraine commenced after the declaration of Ukraine’s independence in 1991. Up until then, Russian2 primarily served as the language for foreign policy, economic and diplomatic relations, as well as education, particularly relevant for foreign students at Ukrainian universities. Ukrainian for foreigners remained somewhat exotic, primarily of interest to the diaspora and international researchers of Ukraine. In the mid-1990s, foreign students entering Ukrainian universities started learning Ukrainian.
