Both mathematics and philosophy embody a high degree of mirroring of neural structures. These scientific disciplines share their historical origins in the logic of thought: mathematics in the logic of signs, and philosophy in the logic of concepts. Philosophers have acted as the openers of the mind of their time in a number of ways, thereby shaping the nature of innovative thinking and the development of higher complexity.
