Trends in herbicide resistance in Sub-Saharan Africa

Weeds that develop herbicide resistance to one or more herbicide modes of action (MOAs) pose a significant threat to global agricultural productivity as well as food security. Herbicide resistance occurs when a weed is able to survive and reproduce when exposed to a dose of the herbicide that would normally kill a wild-type plant.
