摘要

Climate change caused by anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions has brought disastrous impact to planet Earth [1]. Earth’s temperature has risen by an average of about 0.06°C per decade since 1850. The speed of warming since 1982 is more than three times fast per decade. The ten warmest years in the historical record have occurred in the past decade including 2023 being the warmest year since global records began in 1850 [2]. Additionally, the frequency and severity of extreme natural disasters have escalated. Potential consequences of climate change include heightened health risks, food shortages, increased poverty, and widespread displacement [3]. To combat climate change, the Paris Agreement has committed to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and reduce emissions by 45% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050 [4].
