Assessing and reducing the environmental impact of egg production systems
摘要
The interest of consumers in sustainably sourced products is rapidly gaining momentum within food supply chains. While sustainability encompasses three broad areas (environmental, economic, and social), limited understanding of these pillars usually restricts a consumer focus to the environmental impact of products. Additionally, an emphasis on topical issues such as greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, or carbon footprint, often results in the underrepresentation of other major factors, both positive and negative, in sustainability reporting.
