摘要
Throughout the book, we note the historical, cultural and social barriers that have been overcome to transform the definition of women's healthcare so it is no longer focused almost exclusively on childbearing and sexuality. Despite the broadening definition of women’s health, some obstacles persist in providing needed services, and there have been significant reactions against the expansion of women’s reproductive health care services. Women and women’s groups and their political mobilization have been and remain groundbreakers in effecting such changes. Unfortunately, there has been significant recent backlash, and women’s healthcare is now in greater danger than it has been in decades.
