Bahrain
摘要
The natural springs and safe anchorages of the northern reaches of Bahrain island were home to the Dilmun civilisation 5,000 years ago, which traded goods such as Omani copper with Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley civilisation. From the 6th century BC the archipelago came under the influence of various Persian dynasties—initially the Achaemenids, and then, from the 3rd century BC, the Parthians followed by the Sassanids.
