The Caribbean is made up of a group of diverse small states. Each state has different developmental goals as well as challenges and access to resources. Individually, these states have little or no access to low-interest loans for development. Through pooling their resources via the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), however, the region has been able to obtain funding for the development needs of the region. The main goals behind the establishment of the CDB were to contribute to the growth and development of Caribbean countries, encourage greater integration and partnership within the region and assist the less developed countries in the Caribbean.
