Exploring Handwritten and Audio Notes in Microsoft OneNote

In the previous chapter, we discussed the core concepts and practical capabilities of Microsoft OneNote, focusing on effective everyday usage. It explains how to work with pages and apply formatting tools to create well-structured, visually clear notes. The chapter highlights OneNote’s value in education and training through features such as Class Notebook, digital lesson planning, training program creation, and academic research management. It also covers annotation and reviewing techniques that support feedback, collaboration, and content refinement. Overall, the chapter builds a strong foundation for using OneNote as a versatile tool for learning, teaching, research, and professional documentation. In the current chapter, we will explore the capabilities of handwritten notes and audio and video notes in Microsoft OneNote. In the handwritten notes section, we will cover the Draw menu and the different pens for formatting text such as pen, fountain pen, brush pen, highlighter, and laser pointer. Further, we cover features such as Panning Hand, Ruler, Ink to Text, and Ink Replay. In the last section, we will learn how to use the Transcribe feature to create audio and video notes.
