Integrating with External Systems

OrderProcessor has so far operated within boundaries we largely control. Orders are accepted, state is persisted, workflows are orchestrated, and failures are handled inside a predictable serverless environment. Real systems are rarely that contained. They depend on external APIs, partner platforms, human approvals, legacy applications, and specialist services that introduce new forms of latency, failure, cost, and uncertainty.
