Chapter 13 ended with five clauses: disclosure, provenance, constraint, recourse, and accountability. They are the structural floor of a new social contract for a world in which nonhuman actors share agency with humans, and they are not philosophical luxuries. They are the minimum conditions under which institutions remain legitimate, decisions remain reachable, and harm continues to belong to someone. The chapter argued that writing those clauses consciously, before convenience writes them for us, is the difference between a society that remains itself and one that is optimized into something else.
