Cloud Computing Essentials: Understanding Azure

摘要

When I joined Microsoft, the PC revolution was dismantling an older model of computing. In the time-sharing era of the 1960s and 1970s, organizations rented time on centralized mainframes, accessed them via terminals, and paid for computing time by the hour. The PC changed that calculus. Suddenly, computing power sat on individual desks, owned outright, ready whenever needed, with predictable costs and full independence from a central system. The migration from shared to personal, from leased to owned, seemed like permanent progress.
