The usability and scalability lessons from the Windows era—discussed in the preceding chapters—created new challenges even as they solved old ones. Windows 95 and Office 95 democratized access to computing and electronic document creation. The Start button simplified navigation, and the integrated Office suite put word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations within reach of millions. But success introduced a new problem: organizations could now create documents faster than they could organize them.
