Instrumentation and Event Design

In Chapter 5 , we designed the architectural blueprint for our experimentation platform, laying out the core components from the real-time assignment service to the offline analysis engine. Then, in Chapter 6 , we defined the logic for splitting traffic and assigning users to experiments. However, this entire sophisticated structure is built upon a single, fundamental assumption: that we have access to clean, accurate, and trustworthy data. Without it, the most advanced statistical engine will produce meaningless results. This is the principle of “garbage in, garbage out.”
