User Identity, Diversion, and Segmentation

In Chapter 5 , we laid out the high-level blueprint for an experimentation platform, identifying the core components and the flow of data through the system. Now, we zoom in on the most critical component: the assignment or “diversion” engine. This is the heart of the platform, the mechanism responsible for randomly, consistently, and correctly assigning users to different experimental groups.
