Photonics—the science and technology of generating, controlling, and detecting photons—is becoming increasingly central to the evolution of IIoT systems. Its inherent advantages, such as high bandwidth, immunity to electromagnetic interference, and precision sensing capabilities, make it suitable for the stringent requirements of industrial environments.
