The Behavior of Light and Optics

The first two chapters explored the roots of immersive technology and the stimulus-response phenomena when the human brain and sensory system are exposed to virtual environments. This chapter discusses the technical backbone (i.e., the infrastructure of immersion). There are captivating visuals and full immersion in that magic aesthetic, but when we break it down, it is optical systems that bring forth the illusion of this magic.
