Different Linux distributions use different methods to manage their software. Mint and Ubuntu use apt, CentOS and Rocky use dnf and yum, while OpenSUSE uses zypper. Ubuntu also makes use of Snap packages, while CentOS, Rocky, and other distributions can use Flatpak. Security professionals need to know how these tools work and how they manage security.
