On a Linux system, most objects are files or can be treated as files. This includes files, links, directories, network sockets, named pipes, and block devices. Cyber operations professionals need to know how to use and work with files on Linux. This includes knowing the default directory structure, hard and symbolic links, file permissions, file timestamps, file manipulation commands, extended file permissions, access control lists, and how to manually mount additional file systems.
