I still remember my first office job after years of working retail at the upgrades counter at our local CompUSA store. It was a shock to the system going from a world where I was on my feet, dealing with customers or sorting stock rooms, to suddenly being in an environment where everyone had a computer at their desk. Work came in via email, decisions were made in conference rooms, and the whole rhythm of "doing" shifted to coordinating and organizing. As a 20-something, that shift really made me rethink what "work" meant. It was about building new habits and relearning what productivity looked like.
