Workload Selection and Experimental Validity

In Chapter 2 , we explored computer architecture from a performance modeling perspective and covered design tradeoffs, including compute-memory balance, bandwidth versus latency, and parallelism. However, hardware alone is only part of the story; choosing appropriate workloads is an equally important part and, if not done carefully, can undermine modeling conclusions seriously.
