Agentic Paradigm Shift

Salesforce launched Agentforce at Dreamforce 2024, and it instantly became the company’s spearhead product, taking the spotlight together with Data 360 (formerly called Data Cloud) as the company’s number one focus. Agentforce is Salesforce’s answer to building a digital workforce of autonomous agents acting alongside humans to run business. When Salesforce, a company known primarily for its customer relationship management system (CRM), decides to switch its focus to a completely new direction, it is wise to stop and ask, “Why?” By the grand reveal, Salesforce had already built a formidable portfolio of artificial intelligence features under the “Einstein” label. They had already embedded machine learning within CRM Analytics, as well as generative capabilities under Einstein GPT and Copilot. Salesforce clearly felt that these point solutions were not enough to emerge on top in the AI arms race.
