Thain Learns to Collaborate

This chapter evolves Thain from a single agent into a coordinated multi-agent system. It introduces orchestration, blackboard state, routing, safety gating, specialist agents, and merge policies so triage, recall, knowledge lookup, and action planning can collaborate through clear contracts. The chapter shows how agentic systems can remain modular, inspectable, and governed as responsibility is distributed across multiple roles.
