Where Should AI Oversight Reside Within the Organization?

Everywhere you look, someone is writing about AI governance. The term itself is becoming diluted by overuse, yet the urgency behind it remains real. AI could easily draft a governance policy, but only humans can interpret, implement, and enforce it. The more critical question, therefore, is not whether oversight is needed, but where that oversight should reside and what practical steps organizations must take to make it effective.
