SQL vs. NoSQL
摘要
Egyptians built their pyramids in a triangular shape not for the speed of it, but everlasting nature of it. The decision of SQL vs. NoSQL comes down to the same reason: do you want to build quickly, or do you want to build once and run it for decades to come? SQL (ANSI SQL) has been alive for almost half a century and still takes modern database query languages to the cleaners. While NoSQL database engines offer speed, agility, and modern features bundled in a single executable, the old-school SQL aims for legacy—no, no, I don’t mean it’s for the legacy systems only. SQL-based systems, databases, have been live for more than a decade and the platforms will still scale for the next decade.
