Monitoring vs. Observing

Every enterprise has always had one or another type of monitoring. For ASP.NET, you can monitor your applications for the number of requests it receives, how many errors occur, the internal resource consumption—CPU, memory, network, I/O usage, etc. The monitoring tools enable your IT operations to check if the application is responding in the right amount of time or failing to meet its service-level agreement (SLA; a legal agreement between provider and consumer to ensure service availability).
