A couple of years ago, I decided to pick up a second language, something that had always been on my bucket list. I tried the traditional approach: flashcards, vocabulary drills, grammar rules, dusty textbooks. That didn't last long. Nothing was sticking. More importantly, it just wasn't enjoyable.
