The Evolution of Identity Governance

As AI identities become operational realities, traditional identity governance frameworks are being pushed to their limits. Identity and access management (IAM) and identity governance and administration (IGA) solutions were designed initially around human users, with service accounts and machine identities added later as an afterthought. AI agents, however, represent something fundamentally different—autonomous, intelligent actors capable of dynamically learning, adapting, and making independent decisions across systems.
