Documentation
摘要
Documentation is one of the most essential yet frequently undervalued parts of any data project. It serves as the foundation for understanding the meaning, structure, and intended use of your data assets. Without it, even the most well-architected systems become opaque and difficult to trust. Still, despite nearly everyone agreeing on its importance, documentation is often the first thing sacrificed when deadlines loom or priorities shift. It can feel like a thankless task. It does not usually offer immediate, visible results, and it is rarely the work that earns applause from stakeholders. The fast-moving nature of modern data environments also causes many to worry that their documentation will quickly become outdated, leading to hesitation in investing the time to write it at all.
