A number of topics that were once an integral part of the TOGAF Framework have been split off and given their own place in this chapter. This includes the broader topics of Architecture Principles, Stakeholder Management, and Risk Management. But topics such as architecture patterns, gap analysis, interoperability requirements, Business Transformation Readiness Assessments, and Architecture Alternatives and Trade-Offs have also found their way into this chapter. The reason for this is that they describe a specific application. One that is invoked, so to speak, at several points in the implementation of the TOGAF Standard. The unbundling of these topics in turn contributes to the modularity that The Open Group has achieved with the publication of the Standard.
