Regulations
摘要
Regardless of who the threat actors are and the crime syndicates that are present, governments worldwide have responded with legislation to manage these threats. In this chapter, we’ll review the top ten countries by GDP (gross domestic product in trillions of USD based on data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as of January 10, 2025) and provide a simple list of notable cybersecurity regulations. This list includes various laws that govern aspects of cybersecurity, data protection, and information security. It’s important to note that this list does not include all legislation that might derive from individual states, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or for specific vertical industries like payment card industry (PCI) or Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA). Instead, this list represents individual government responses to the evolving history of cyber threats.
