Project management methodologies have their advantages and address several important issues. They put a frame on the knowledge and the entire project management area. They provide descriptions of particular techniques, present various ways of running a project, pinpoint the things that should be taken into consideration, and so forth. And thus, they are quite beneficial. These are, however, just some basic tools, a skillset that should get you started. They are neither a guarantee of success nor are they a solution to some real-life problems. Methodologies are a good way of organizing knowledge. They identify the areas that should be managed. These include the scope, change, timeline, quality, budget, and stakeholders. Project management methodologies don’t tell you exactly how to do it, what kind of problems you will encounter, or how to solve them.
