Creating a Database

An Oracle database can be created when installing the Oracle software; however, Chapter 1 discusses how to install the Oracle software first. This makes sense when configuring new environments and setting up new versions of the database. Even if you created a starter database with the installation of the software, chances are you will be creating more databases in the same Oracle home and will need to understand the different ways to create a database.
