The current philosophical debate in matters related to digital security revolves around the need to uphold state security laws like the EU’s 2016 General Data Protection Regulation and preserve the right to privacy and trust attached to the principle of end-to-end encryption. Notably, considering all the innovative developments expected, the major challenge related to these recurring themes in the future of cybersecurity and digital security is how to deal with the global [1]. Emerging technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence should be considered when elaborating on an agenda for the future of digital security.
